The Drip Store’s line of air vacuum relief valves provides vital protection to an irrigation system’s main line and lateral pipes. The air vacuum relief valves allow air to escape during system startup, preventing air restriction or water hammer caused by large air masses moving though the pipe, and preventing explosive conditions from air compressed by water. The air vacuum relief valves also allow air to enter the pipe line during valve closure or when the system is shut down, minimizing the collapse of main line and sub-main pipes, back siphonage of dirt into the drip emitters, and water hammer caused by sudden reversal of flow.

      To install an air relief valve, ensure you have a 17 mm x 1/2" FNPT tee at the start of your system (for 1/2" .700 OD drip tubing systems, use adapter tee LF307 in conjunction with coupler A134; for 1/2" .620 OD drip tubing systems use adapter tee LF306 in conjunction with coupler A134). The air relief valve screws into the 1/2" FNPT of the barbed tee. The air relief valve connection is normally located near the pressure regulator assembly as this is often the highest point in the drip system or the center of the line. It is important to install the air relief valve at the highest point of the system layout to allow it to work correctly.

      To install an air relief valve, ensure you have a 1" FNPT tee at the highest point along the pipeline or upstream of the valve manifolds. The air relief valve should thread into a 1" male pipe thread. It is important to install the air relief valve at the highest point of the system layout or near the pump and filtration stations to allow it to work correctly. If your water inlet and filter are lower than the irrigated landscape, ensure your air relief valve is suitably located at the highest point.

      To install an air relief valve, ensure you have a 2" FNPT tee at the highest point along the pipeline or upstream of the valves manifolds. The air relief valve should thread into a 2" male pipe thread. It is important to install the air relief valve at the highest point of the system layout or near the pump and filtration stations to allow it to work correctly. If your water inlet and filter are lower than the irrigated landscape, ensure your air relief valve is suitably located at the highest point.  

    • A158 : Installation for Air Vacuum Relief Valve A158

      To install an air relief valve, ensure you have a 1" FNPT tee at the start of your system (such as model P100). The air relief valve then threads into the 1" FNPT of the tee. The air relief valve connection is normally located near the pressure regulator assembly as this is often the highest point in the drip system. If your water connection and filter are lower than the irrigated landscape, ensure your air relief valve is suitably located at the highest point. Install one air relief valve for every 40 LPM of water flow used in your system.

      To install an air relief valve, ensure you have a 2" MNPT (tee) connection at the highest point along the pipeline, upstream of the valves manifolds, near the pump or filtration stations. The air relief valve then threads onto the 2" male pipe thread. It is important to install the air relief valve at the highest point of the system layout or near the pump and filtration stations to allow it to work correctly. If your water inlet and filter are lower than the irrigated landscape, ensure your air relief valve is suitably located at the highest point.
