The Drip Store’s high performance basic and premium preset pressure regulators from Hendrickson Bros are available in 3/4" with FHT or FNPT threads and in preset pressures of 10, 15, 19, 20, 25 and 30 PSI. The preset pressure regulators are used to regulate the incoming water pressure entering your drip irrigation, drip tape or micro sprinkler system to the recommended or suggested operating pressure of the drip or micro sprinkler irrigation system. The preset pressure regulators sustain and maintain accurate control of pressure no matter what fluctuations occur in the irrigation supply line.
Use the pressure regulator for your irrigation system and install the device after the filter. Choose the correct thread (hose or pipe). The pressure regulator should never be installed on a main line where the device is under constant pressure. In this situation, we recommend installing the pressure regulator after the valve.
Note: A common misconception is that turning a valve or faucet down will reduce the downstream pressure, but this is incorrect; turning the water down only reducers the flow, not the pressure. The pressure remains high.
Most household water pressures are anywhere between 40 PSI and 120 PSI, with some homes even higher. Typically homes will have a pressure regulator (before the water goes to the pipe inside the house that is set at 40 to 70 PSI). Drip irrigation systems are designed to work at an even lower pressure with optimal pressure for a drip system between 20 and 30 PSI, and for drip tape 10 to 25 PSI. If the system is at higher pressure, a problem may occur with the drip emitters, drip tape, micro sprinklers and the fittings such as drip emitters popping off, higher flow from the drip emitters, micro sprinkler components blowing out of the drip tubing and/or lower uniformity. To achieve the proper pressure at the drip lateral a pressure regulator or adjustable pressure regulator may be required.
