The K008 PC Drip line Irrigation Kit is one of The Drip Store’s custom designed drip irrigation kits that contains all the parts needed to cover a garden area with up to 220 square feet. This kit is ideal for closely or in preset spacing plants such as ground covers, roses, shrubs, or for around foundation plantings
See Added Parts to expand your system by purchasing additional pieces separately.
This drip irrigation kit includes 100’ of brown drip line with 1 GPH (gallons per hour) pressure compensating inline drip emitters inserted into the inner side of the drip tubing every 18”. This kit is ideal for preset spacing or closely spaced rows of plants such as ground cover, shrubs and roses, or for around the house foundation. This drip line irrigation kit includes all the components needed to water small, medium and large size plants, and it can be expanded to a system of up to 440 square feet, using 1 GPH inline PC drip emitters.
This PC Drip line from DIG is an advanced pressure-compensating drip line incorporating PC inline emitters with low-density brown polyethylene tubing. The PC drip emitters have a cylindrical design with turbulent flow. Additionally, they are flow-regulated using a silicon diaphragm and are self-flushing. The PC drip emitters are inserted and welded into the inside wall of the polyethylene tubing in a preset spacing of 18” using a flow rate of 1 gallon per hour (GPH). The efficient design of the PC Drip line makes it a reliable system in a wide range of irrigation applications.
Drip irrigation is the slow application of water directly to the plants' root zone in a predetermined pattern. Maintaining an optimum moisture level in the soil at all times results in less water lost to the sun and the wind. No water is wasted on non-growth areas, and the root zone is maintained at its ideal moisture level, combining the proper balance of water and air for a very efficient irrigation system.
This kit has all the parts needed to implement a drip irrigation system from a hose faucet (spigot) or from an inline valve.
Note: The pressure regulator (included) is used to lower the incoming pressure to the micro sprinklers and drip emitters to the suggested operating pressure of 25 PSI, which is in the range of recommended pressures for a drip or micro-sprinkler system.
Suggestion in connecting the 1/2" compression drip fittings. To install the 1/2" compression fittings, cut the drip tubing with a hand pruner, being careful to keep dirt from entering the line. Hold the compression fitting in one hand and the drip tubing in the other and force the drip tubing into the fitting by wiggling it from side to side. Make sure that the drip tubing is pushed into the compression fitting for about 1/2 to 5/8 of an inch for a very tight fit. No glue or clamps are required.
This drip irrigation kit has all the parts needed to start the system connecting to a faucet. The Drip Store also includes instructions on how to start the system from a PVC pipe or a pipe thread.
Starting the irrigation system from a faucet:
Starting the irrigation system from a PVC pipe:
Steps to connect all others components:
How much time to water: Turn the water onfor 45 minutes to 1 hour every two days, depending on your location and the soil type. After a week or two check the soil, the health of the plants, and adjust the irrigation time as needed. If you have an irrigation controller and you need to add more time, adjust the time on the controller or program the controller with additional start-time.
NOTE: Connecting and installing the 1/2" drip fittings. To install the 1/2" fittings, cut the drip tubing with a hand pruner, being careful to keep dirt from entering the line. Hold the fitting in one hand and the drip tubing in the other and force the drip tubing into the fitting by wiggling it from side to side. Make sure that the drip tubing is pushed about 1/2" to 5/8” inside and into the fitting.
Suggestion on unrolling the drip tubing or drip line:
Before we start, we suggest laying the 1/2” drip tubing out in a direct sunlight to make it easier to work with. When ready, start to unroll the drip tubing and lay it out per your design drawing or requirement. Use the 1/2" stakes to secure the drip tubing and the drip line to the ground in key areas and add more stakes as you unroll the drip tubing or the drip line. Space the stakes every 10-20’ and at the end of each section.
Below ground installation:
If the drip tubing is installed below grade, dig trenches 6" to 8" deep to keep the drip tubing safe from cultivation practices. Leave the end of the drip tubing above surface for periodic flushing.
If the installation requires crossing under a concrete walk or driveway, first dig two holes on opposite sides of the walkway. Next, connect a 3/4" PVC pipe to a garden hose using a 3/4" PVC female adapter, then turn on the water and begin forcing the garden hose with the PVC pipe through the soil. When the end of the pipe reaches the other side, turn off the water and cut the pipe so the 3/4" PVC fittings can be removed. Now, use the PVC pipe as a sleeve and push the drip tubing through the pipe until it appears on the other side.
