Used for residential and commercial applications the LEIT-2 irrigation controller is a wireless and solar powered system. The LEIT-2 system combines a remote control handset model LEIT-RC2, a 2 stations ambient (solar) powered controller model LEIT-2, a 3/4” thought 2” in line valves, series 305-xxx and various attachments. The LEIT RC2 remote control handset is an advanced wireless device that used to communicate and to program up to 99 LEIT-2 controllers with up to 198 valves. The LEIT-RC2 handset can communicate to a LEIT-2 controller from a distance of up to 300’ line of sight. The LEIT RC2 handset has intuitive icon-based software used for review and program the LEIT-2 controllers. All controller functions are controlled and reviewed by the RC2 remote handset. After installation, no further visits to the controller are required.

The LEIT-2 is powered by a photovoltaic module, which harnesses ambient light to generate electricity and store it in super capacitors to power the LEIT-2 controller. No AC power is needed or batteries used. Unlike other conventional solar panels the LEIT-2 is environmentally friendly in that it is certified lead free and uses light as its power source. The LEIT-2 utilizes a patented technology enabling a smaller and efficient photovoltaic cell module to be inside a small package without a backup battery. This allows the unit to be ultra-compact and to be mounted directly onto a cover of a valve box. This feature eliminates the need for long wire runs offering quick and simple installation. The controller is operating using DIG Corporation DC valves only model 305DC-XXX (3/4" to 2") and has a mounting option such as clipping the controller to the valve or directly onto a valve box. The result is an advanced, two-way communication device that offers features over and above standard irrigation controllers.

Installing the LEIT-2 system required the following components:
Installed in any location with no AC power or battery needed
1. LEIT-2: 2 station ambient (solar) powered wireless controller with two yellow wires for rain sensor connection and four wires, with each two wires, red and white used for connection to each valve. Suggestion: We recommend that the user should reset the controller using the 2 yellow wires and a 9 volt battery before installation due to the fact that this type of controller has no backup batteries.
2. LEIT RC2: Remote control handset is used to communicate with up to 99 LEIT-2 controllers Suggestion: when connecting to the LEIT-2 controller for the first time and assigning a controller ID , assign any number from 2 to 99
3. Up to 2 DIG series 3/4”, 305DC.075, 1” 305DC.100, 1-1/2” 305DC.150 and 2” 305DC.200 plastic in-line globe valves with latching solenoids are designed to operate with our LEIT-2 solar powered controller (see our valves section under DC valves). Suggestion: Connect the solenoids red and white wires to the controller station # red and white wires using water proof splice connectors
4. Mounting the LEIT-2 controller required one of the mounting configuration provided:
a. Valve box dome mounting model 30-830 allows mounting the LEIT-2 controller into any valve box. The mounting dome included a simple instruction of how to install it to the box
b. Valve clip mounting attachment with 4 screws model 30-831 allows to clip the controller and to mount it to one of the valve solenoid. This installation is suggested when the valves are above ground.

No more AC power needed or battery to replace, the photovoltaic module in the LEIT-2 harness light energy to generate electricity that is stored and used to power the controller day and night in any kind of weather. Light illumination is measured in terms of lux (lx) or foot-candles (fc). A lux is equal to the total intensity of light that falls on a 3.5 square feet (one square meter) surface that is one foot away from the point source of light. In normal day with direct sunlight an average of 100,000 lux can be measured. The exclusive LEIT-2 controller requires only an average of 3000 lux for normal operation

      You will need:

      • Teflon plumbers tape (sold separately -- Drip Store model A042)


      1. Attach SWF013 – 1” x ¾” MPT adaptor for swivel manifold -- to ¾” inlet port of each of two (2) 305DC-075 valves.  The inlet port for these valves is the side opposite the electric solenoid. No Teflon tape is needed for swivel manifold connections using purple gaskets.
      2. Use two wraps of Teflon tape on both ¾” MPT sides of filter F303.  Determine filter flow direction by noting the arrow on the top body housing labeled “SCREEN.”  The arrow indicates the direction water should flow.
      3. Carefully thread filter inlet to outlet port of each valve.  The outlet port on these valves has a small circle labeled “¾ in. NPT” on the underside of the valve.
      4. To filter outlet (side with flow indicator arrow), carefully thread the female side of pressure regulator A044.
      5. Attach your complete valve, filter and regulator assembly to 1” swivel ports on manifold VA024.
      6. Attach end cap SWF006 to male end of the manifold.
      7. Your valve manifold assembly is now complete.  Remove packaging from controller and wireless handset.  Installation instructions and wiring diagrams for these items are included.  Follow these installation instructions for solar controller LEIT-2 two (2) station ambient light (solar) powered irrigation controllers.
