Work great, but I had to tighten it a lot more than I thought I should have to in order to get a leak free connection.

This is exactly what you need to prevent your drip system from possibly contaminating your water supply. Mine is placed just before the filter. This material is plenty sturdy; I have installed and uninstalled it numerous times and it seems to withstand quite a bit.
