The Drip Stores’ 12” spacing pressure compensating brown drip line from DIG Corp is available in 500’ and with a flow rate of .95 GPH.
The Drip Store’s Excel Pressure Compensating Drip Line from DIG Corp is extruded tubing with self-contained, flow regulated emitters molded into the inside wall of the drip tubing in preset spacing. Both the tubing and the drip emitters are manufactured from the finest quality resins using a process to form a product that emits water uniformly from each emitter, year after year.
The Excel Inline PC drip emitters contain a diaphragm that continuously adjusts to varying water pressure to ensure a constant flow rate. The diaphragm inside the inline drip emitter allows particles to pass through the dripper without harming it, providing reliable performance and a longer life. This method of continuous flushing and wide flow path allows the drip emitter to operate at optimal flow rates under extreme conditions. PC inline drip emitters discharge the same amount of water under a wide pressure range, providing high uniformity and longer run on any topography.
For commercial and residential applications, use this drip line with our 17 mm barbed fittings and with our line of Nut Lock fittings. The drip line can be installed below or above the ground and if used above the ground can be covered with mulch to blend it with the landscape. Our PC drip line can be used for installation in planters, island, home gardens, trees, and in landscape areas.
Versatility: The Excel PC drip line is designed for placement in both new and existing landscape area including green-roof areas, and used for below ground or above the surface. The Excel PC drip line is ideal for installation on difficult terrain such as on slopes, in oddly shaped areas, and in windy sites.
Durability: Our Excel drip line is designed to withstand the harshest field conditions, and is manufactured of high quality, highly durable plastics containing added quantities of carbon black compound, making it resistant to the damaging effects of ultraviolet rays.
Root Zone: One of the most important aspects of drip irrigation is the fact that, in many instances, a totally new and more favorable root zone is created and a relatively constant soil moisture level can be maintained.
Uniformity and lower maintenance: With higher uniformity over a wide range of pressures, the Excel™ pressure compensating drip line from DIG Corp offers many advantages in site preservation and maintenance, such as even uniformity over a longer lateral run with smaller size valves due to a smaller sized delivery system, no watering of streets and sidewalk, no above ground sprinklers to brake or replace and no water runoff.
Choosing the proper drip irrigation method based on soil type:
When using drip irrigation it is important to select the correct application rate and spacing in order to achieve the right soaked pattern shape. In sandy soil, water tends to drain quickly (gravitational force) with little lateral movement, so applying a higher flow rate over a given time period will produce a wider pattern. Using point source irrigation with .5 GPH drip emitters for one hour will provide a smaller soaked area then using 1 GPH for the same time, due to the soil characteristics.
The drip line can be installed below or above the ground and if used above the ground can be covered with mulch to blend it with the landscape. To connect the drip line to the drip tubing, use our 17 mm drip fittings, .700 OD compression fittings with black insert or use our Nut Lock fittings.
Some knowledge about drip irrigation systems can give a well-informed contractor or installer an advantage in a very competitive market. Many installations could benefit from the addition of drip irrigation, such as in strip planting, sloped areas, and windy areas or in oddly shaped areas. Contractors or installers with expertise in micro irrigation can select the appropriate installation method and products for applications such as overlap irrigation on slopes using drip line with pre-inserted drip emitters (in a variety of spacing and low flow rates), strip planting using a below grade drip system with check valve, shrubs and groundcovers using drip line with 12” to 24” spacing, a conventional irrigation method of PVC pipe with risers using multi outlet drip emitters or, for oddly shaped flowerbeds or closely spaced plantings, using micro sprayers in a variety of flow rates and diameters. Each of these options provides the contractor with the tools and the flexibility to offer his customers installation packages that include a blend of options, which set him apart from his competitors.
