Suggestion of method and products selection for a layout of drip system starting from a faucet, this layout is for patio, boxes, hanging plants, pots and baskets

In this configuration using a hose bib as a starting point the system can be automate using a hose end battery operated controller (optional), and in this layout the 1/2" can be used as the main line with up to 220 GPH and the 1/4" micro tube as the sub lateral

  1. Optional to start with battery operated controller (low flow). Model C001. Connect to the faucet
  2. 3/4" FHT backflow device, prevent from water and contamination re-entering the line. Model A015. Connect to the controller or if the controller is not uses, connect to the faucet
  3. 3/4" FHT screen filter with155 mesh, insure clean water to the drip system. Model F300. Connect to the backflow device
  4. 3/4" FHT 15 or 25 PSI pressure regulator, to lower the incoming pressure to the ideal working pressure for small drip system in a patio. Model A011and model A013. Connect to the filter
  5. 3/4" FHT swivel adapter, connecting the drip hose the system. Model LF003. Connect to the pressure regulator
  6. 100' 1/2" drip hose model. ModelT003. Connect to the swivel adapter and layout the drip tubing in the garden area and near the plants
  7. Near each basket, pots or container, punch a hole in the 1/2" drip hose using the punch, and insert a 1/4" barb model SF001.
    • note on using punches: If you use the punch-to-punch hole in the drip hose very often, then we recommend that the hand punch used needs to be "cleaned" after each punch, to make sure that you will continue to have clean cuts. Use a narrow wire or a pin to push the tubing that has been left inside the punch pin out of the punch
  8. To the barb connect a 1/4" micro tubing model T028 for 100' and run the 1/4" micro tubing to the pot, basket or container (one line of 1/4" micro tubing for each pot, basket or container)
  9. 4" to 6" from the basket cut the micro tube, and attach a 1/4" ball valve model A018. This ball valve will allow you to have a control the flow rate to each pot, basket or container and to make sure that all runoff are equal form all pots, basket or containers
  10. Turn the water on and flush the line, after you flush the line continue with the last parts of adding the drippers, 1/4" drip line or 1/4" laser drilled soaker hose depends on the size of .pots or basket size
  11. After the ball valve add anther piece of 1/4" micro tubing, and run it into the pot, basket or container.
  12. To the end of the 1/4" micro tube, and for basket of up to 8" in diameter add .5 GPH model D005 or 1 GPH dripper model D001or any dripper that you already purchase, and secure with a stake model S003.
  13. For basket larger then 8" and up to 12" in diameter: inside the pot, or basket, instead of the dripper add a 1/4" tee model SF003, to each side of the tee add a 3" to 5" length of micro tube, and to the end of the two micro tubes add a .5 GPH or 1 GPH dripper
  14. For pots, baskets or containers larger then 12" in diameter, inside the basket instead of the dripper add a 1/4" tee model SF003, to the tee connect a length of 1/4" drip line model T022 per 100' or a length of 1/4" laser drilled soaker hose model T012 and loop around the pot, basket or containers, if needed, have two loops and then connect back to the other side of the 1/4" tee
  15. Punch. Model A019. Use the punch to punch hole in the 1/2" drip hose for insertion of the drippers and 1/4" fittings if needed
  16. Plugs (if needed). Model SF007. If have a hole on the 1/2" you can use the plug to close the hole or to close the end of the 1/4" micro tube

Turn the water on, and in few minutes check the flow in each pot, basket and containers, if you need more or less water adjust the flow rate per each pot or basket using the ball valve and try to see that all the plants will drain at the same time, then program the controller for about 3 to 5 minute less then the time it takes the water to drain
