The Drip Store high quality 500' drip tubing with .620 OD from DIG Corporation, some time described as blank tubing, poly tubing or polyethylene tubing is used for commercial, agriculture and residential applications of drip irrigation installation.
Polyethylene drip tubing is used as the main lateral or as the sub-lateral in the design and installation of drip irrigation or low volume irrigation systems on a wide range of applications, including commercial, agriculture and residential. The 1/2" polyethylene drip tubing, with .620 OD, from DIG Corporation is available in 50', 100’, 200’, 500’ and 1000’ coils. This 1/2" tubing is made of Dow FINGERPRINT™ DFDA-7510 NT linear low-density polyethylene resin. The poly drip tubing exhibits a combination of outstanding environmental stress-cracking resistance and burst strength. The Dow FINGERPRINT™ DFDA-7510 drip tubing from DIG includes an anti-oxidant to protect the end product from thermal degradation with 5% concentrated carbon black. The materials selected contain the Dow FINGERPRINT™ (trace element) that certifies the product and provides verification as to the identity of the drip tubing in the event of failure.

Installation methods using 1/2" drip tubing
Option 1: Installation method using poly drip tubing as the main lateral:
The 1/2" drip tubing layout can be placed above or below ground; it maybe started from a hose end, in-line controller or an in-line valve. In the garden area use 1/2" tees and 1/2" elbows as needed and to extend additional drip tubing to the plant areas. If more drip tubing is needed use a 1/2"coupling to expand the line. Near the plant areas use 1/4" micro tube as the feeder line and secure all 1/2" drip tubing to the ground using 1/2" holder stakes. Add drippers and micro sprinklers into the 1/2" drip tubing and to the end of the feeder line.
Option 2: Installation method using a PVC pipe as the main lateral and the drip tubing as the sub lateral:
Install a 3/4" PVC pipe below grade and connect the PVC pipe to an in-line valve or to a battery operated controller. In each area to be watered, add a 3/4" PVC tee (3/4" slip x1/2" female thread) and add a 6" or 8" high 1/2" riser. To the riser add a conversion elbow and then a swivel adapter or a swivel tee. Attach the 1/2" drip tubing and secure the 1/2" drip tubing to the ground using a 1/2" holder stake. Per your plant layout, insert drip emitters or micro sprinklers into the 1/2" drip tubing as needed or use the 1/4" micro tubing as the feeder line to the plants and add the drip emitter at the end of the micro tubing, Use a 1/4" stake to support the emitter at the end of the micro tubing.

Before we start, we suggest laying the 1/2” drip tubing out in direct sunlight to make it easier to work with. When ready, start to unroll the drip tubing and lay it out per your design drawing or requirement. Use the 1/2" stakes to secure the drip tubing to the ground in key areas. Space the stakes every 10-20’ and at the end of each section. If the drip tubing is installed below grade, dig trenches 6" to 8" deep to keep the drip tubing safe from cultivation practices. Leave the end of the drip tubing above surface for periodic flushing.
If the installation requires crossing under a concrete walk or driveway, first dig two holes on opposite sides of the walkway. Next, connect a 3/4" PVC pipe to a garden hose using a 3/4" PVC female adapter, then turn on the water and begin forcing the garden hose with the PVC pipe through the soil. When the end of the pipe reaches the other side, turn off the water and cut the pipe so the 3/4" PVC fittings can be removed. Now, use the PVC pipe as a sleeve and push the drip tubing through the pipe until it appears on the other side. Once, the 1/2" drip tubing has been installed, then the 1/4" micro tubing if needed can be connected. (Reference micro tubing installation for specifics).
