Start a drip system layout by connecting the drip zone kit to a faucet or PVC pipe thread and then attaching 1/2" drip hose with .700 OD. The assembly includes a 3/4" battery operated controller with the option of hose or pipe thread, a 3/4" "Y" filter with 155 mesh, a 3/4" 25 PSI preset premium pressure regulator, and 3/4" swivel adapter for 1/2" drip tubing. Use this automated drip zone kit in any landscape area in commercial or residential applications.

Properly designed drip irrigation systems begin with what is called the drip zone or the drip zone assembly, which consists of three vital components: the control valve, a filter to protect the drip emitters, and a pressure regulator to lower the pressure to the suggested operating pressure for a drip system. This unit include a 3/4" high flow battery operated controller with the option of hose or pipe thread. The assembly can be attached to a faucet using the 3/4" FHT x MPT swivel adapter included or to a PVC pipe.
If using this option to start a system, begin the installation from an outdoor faucet (spigot) or from a PVC pipe inside an irrigation box or above ground. Connect the battery operated controller unit to the faucet first, using the 3/4" hose thread adapter included with the controller. Next, attach the filter to the outlet side of the controller’s 3/4" valve, and then to the filter attach the pressure regulator. With this kit the 3/4" swivel pipe thread, sealed by a washer, is included, so connect the 3/4" swivel side to the pressure regulator and attach the drip tubing to other side. The swivel adapter should be threaded to the pressure regulator clockwise and "hand tight" only. Tightening with a wrench is not recommended and is usually not necessary using hose thread fittings. This completes the drip zone assembly.
Starting the irrigation system from a faucet:
1. First connect the battery-operated controller to the faucet using the hose thread fitting included with the controller. ( If a backflow device is used, connect the battery-operated controller after the backflow device.)
2. Connect the 3/4" MPT filter to the female controller outlet.
3. Connect the 3/4" FNPT x MNPT 25 PSI pressure regulator to the filter.
4. Connect the 3/4" FNPT swivel adapter to the 3/4" 25 PSI pressure regulator.
5. To start the drip system, connect the poly drip tubing to the adapter by wiggling and forcing the drip tubing into the compression side of the adapter.
6. Lay out the drip tubing to the garden area. The 1/2" drip tubing is used as the main line for drip systems into which drip emitters, micro sprinklers or 1/4" micro tubing are inserted.
Starting the irrigation system from a PVC pipe:
1. Glue to a 3/4" PVC pipe a PVC adapter (model P367) (not included).
2. Connect the 3/4" battery-operated controller (model C000) to the nipple.
3. Connect the 3/4" MNPT filter (model F303) directly to the female controller outlet.
4. Connect the 3/4" 25 PSI FNPT x MNPT pressure regulator (model A044) to the filter.
5. Connect the 3/4" FNPT swivel adapter to the 3/4" 25 PSI pressure regulator.
6. To start the drip system, connect the poly drip tubing to the adapter by wiggling and forcing the drip tubing into the compression side of the adapter.
7. Lay out the drip tubing to the garden area. The 1/2" drip tubing is used as the main line for drip systems into which drip emitters, micro sprinklers or 1/4" micro tubing are inserted
· Make sure that the water flow direction matches for each component, if any is in line with the water flow.
· Use Teflon Tape only with the filter and make sure to remove all Teflon tape excess..
· Pressurize the system and make sure that water is not leaking from the unit or any part along the line. Test the assembly manually and then automatically via the controller, and then program the controller.
