This is the easiest part of installation. It's amazing how easily this tubing fits into the friction-fit connectors and makes a good seal without threads or glue. Be sure the OD (.620 or .700) matches your fittings. I find it easiest to layout the main line in the sun so it softens and is easier to layout or connect. I also like to use the self-draining valves at the end of the run (they open under 7 PSI and drain after each watering cycle). After 4 years, I've had no issues with this hose or fittings. Great unit, except for a huge design flaw: the plastic sleeve/swivel that carries the female hose adapter is extremely fragile. If you attach it to something rigid (like a faucet) and put any side pressure on it (like while connecting anything to the outflow end) the sleeve cracks and then the controller is completely useless. It broke immediately upon installation. I'm returning it and replacing with a C000 model, which looks like it has more robust options for connection.
This model digital timer does contain a plastic, hose thread swivel adaptor which is not designed to support weights higher than that of any standard head unit assembly.
I have 4 of these timers some as old as 4 years. I have not had any trouble with them they are great. Dig is such a great company they carry parts for all their hose end timers and as a consumer you can order direct from them. Dig.com or search for Dig. I have a old one from them that is at least 10 years old and I was able to get parts for it. I have done the research and you cannot find a hose end controller from another company that is in the same ball game. If you need a hose end timer look no further......
I have had one of these for at least 5 years and only this year did I have to apply some contact cleaner and replace the battery connector. Very reliable and sturdy. I am subtracting one rating grade because the programming is only by days of the week and you cannot choose to irrigate every two days, three days, etc.
I have used this timer for a few years and have had no problem. Getting ready to start another season soon.
I have installed five of these in the last year without a bit of trouble. A good product at a good price.
I have tried several Orbit timers for my drip system and none seemed to work for more than a few weeks. I bought one of these DIG units about 3 years ago and it still works like clockwork. Does what you ask it to do and doesn't eat batteries. It stands up under the Arizona sun and that is a true test in my opinion. I'm about to buy another one for another driip segment in my lawn.
Absolutely 5 stars. I've used drip systems for almost 20 years and timers have come and gone quickly. This is, by far, the best I've ever used and also the easiest to program!!!
Great Timer. Much better than any timers I could find at the National home improvement stores. Good for drip irrigation (can do times of as little as 1 minute, and has 4 run times per day. It would also be good for a sprinkler.
VERY EASY to program, nice design. Uses a 9v battery, besure you have one available.
This thing is absolutely incredible! Just program it and forget it. Easy to use and dead accurate…
Absolutely wonderful timer, we have several, seldom a problem...and then easy to fix. Very dependable!
Works great. Easy to program and operate.
I'm very happy with this timer (9001D). I have them on three separate systems where they have worked perfectly for over four years. A good quality 9V battery lasts well over a year. Easy to program and works perfectly - easier to program than other brands I've used. No leaks around the connectors.
I just broke one of them by accidently hitting it (hard!) with a trash can and replaced it with a spare kept on hand for just such problems. Now, I need to buy another one to replace my spare and I won't even consider changing brands.
I bought this timer last year and it did not work. I tried it for over a week and it would never activate at the programmed time. I returned it and went with a different brand, Melnor, that I bought at a local 'big box' store for $25. It worked the first time and every time.
The Drip Store offers technical support for those who might be having difficulty programing a digital timer for the first time.

I'm sure this is a good product, but it was not what I expected having read the specs. I understood this to be a plain and simple manifold for distributing flow 6 ways. However, this unit also controls pressure to all outlets regardless of where the valve dials are set. Each outlet has an internal diaphragm that set maximum output to something very low; I'd guess less than 10 GPH. There's NO WAY you're going to get 20 GPH from each outlet as stated in the specs, regardless of the pressure you're putting into the unit.
I hooked this unit all up to my irrigation setup, and couldn't figure out why I was getting puny output. The unit does not come apart so that you can remove or adjust the pressure control diaphragm.
Fortunately, the valves are removable, so I MacGyvered a homemade manifold from the canibalized parts, and threw away the shell.
The design of this product is such that it will never flow more water (per outlet, combined) than is being offered to it by the wider system, including within a system zone which may use several high GPH sprinklers or devices. The customer should check to see that his/her water availability (GPM) on this zone coincides with zone demands.

When I set out to have a gravity feed gray water drip system, I read several places that flag emitters are ideal because they're easily cleaned.
It is true that they can be cleaned easily. However, I found that they also seem to clog more than the diaphragm type emitters. So, this is the trade off. If you have a lot of emitters then it may not be worth the effort to periodically go through and clean them. I found that I have to clean mine once every few weeks or they start dripping slower.
The kind of clogging material I'm talking about is slime, btw. A decent filter removes most of the hard stuff, but organic slime gets through and seems to multiply inside the lines, even after the filter. So it's good to keep the water moving and every few weeks blast some fresh water through the system to push the slime out.

These Netafim heavy-duty emitters are large in size, bigger than any I've seen. I'd imagine this means a lot of internal volume and less small places for material to jam up. After obtaining a picture from our customer and reviewing this comment with the manufacturer we found the issue to be mismatching Hose Thread components with Pipe thread components and not actually a fault of the product. Please see the response from the tech department of DIG Corp.
Dear Drip Store,
We noticed in your Products Review section the rating on one of our drip irrigation fittings. After our investigation and reviewing the email from you with your customer's problem description including a picture (enclosed), we would like to respond to this complaint.
The product: 3/4" female pipe thread swivel adapter x .700 OD drip tubing your model # LF001 (the part is not included in the picture provided by your customer).
DIG Corporation produces and distributes a 3/4" swivel adapter with female pipe thread (FPT), and a swivel adapter with 3/4" female hose thread (FHT). The female swivel ring on the hose thread is black and the female swivel ring on the pipe thread part is gray. This is the easiest way to differentiate between the two because the bodies are the same, and the female thread looks similar on each. The FHT hose thread swivel adapter must always be screwed on to a device or fitting that has male hose thread (i.e. a faucet, hose end timer, or garden hose). If it is screwed on to a fitting, nipple, adapter or device that has male pipe thread, it will leak at the swivel. This will be the same for the swivel pipe thread. This is because the male and female thread are not compatible, and the swivel adapter will not screw on far enough to seal against the washer. Applying Teflon tape will not fix the leak, and over tightening will damage the thread. The only remedy is to select the appropriate part for the threaded connection.
For the same reasons, if a FPT swivel adapter is screwed on to a male hose thread fitting, it will also leak externally at the swivel point. A 3/4" FPT swivel adapter must be screwed on to a male pipe thread fitting such as a PVC male adapter or 3/4" nipple. It should also be noted that in this case, no Teflon tape should be wrapped around the male pipe thread, as this may prohibit the female fitting from screwing on far enough to seal against the washer.
DIG Corp. and other manufacturers produce and distribute filters, pressure regulators, backflow preventers and other fittings and adapters that are available in both pipe and hose thread configurations, so it is very important to know what type of thread is installed. If the thread pattern is unknown, please call or e-mail us for assistance.
In reviewing the picture provided, we can see that the hose end timer is connected to a faucet with a brass backflow device (See A +B). To the controller we see an additional plastic backflow device with female hose thread x male pipe thread (your model # A016). First, this part is not needed and the user can remove it (See C). Second this backflow device is also connected into a 3/4" pressure regulator with hose thread (See D). This is one more problem when a backflow with male pipe thread is connected into a pressure regulator with female hose thread. Last, the hose thread on the pressure regulator was probably connected into our 3/4" swivel adapter with pipe thread (See D + E) and this is the reason the assembly was leaking from the swivel adapter. By changing the swivel adapter from hose to pipe thread the problem will be solved.
Thank you for allowing DIG to respond to and clarified this issue and we hope that your customer can take the time to correct his review of our product.
Sincerely,
Stuart M. Spaulding CLIA

Lots of emitters, and lots of hose, but not enough barbs to connect them all.
Unless you want to put all your emitters on your 1/2" main, you'll need to add some barbed connectors in order to connect more than four 1/4" lines from your mains.
Also, unless you're driving them into really tough clay, the "hold-down" stakes are worthless. On my aerated soil, they just pop right out on the tension of the 1/2" tubing.

Very good!
They are fully adjustable. It sends 8 [or 6?] tiny streams of water in a 360 degree pattern. I use it in many places....ranging from large container/pots to small trees. Works perfectly.
The flow is a little high....especially for containers.......they start overflowing in a minute or two. Hence I am looking at MS023 instead for containers.
They work great and are adjustable, as indicated. Use too many and they sap the water pressure, though.
Put one on each of my young 30 fruit trees. All worked perfectly on the very first try. Gives even, steady watering and are easily adjustable.

I agree with the previous post, it is just too short to hold 1/2" tubing in place.
An essential item for keeping polytubes in the proper position for watering, but it is often too short in loose soil. Different sizes such as 9 and 12 inches or 8, 10 & 12 inches would be a big asset.

This is a good mainline filter but with my water conditions, I found it better to replace the 155 mesh green filter with the 120 mesh brown filter. Works well as far as the flitering goes, I guess, but the female fitting that screws onto the hose bib slipped off the filter, allowing water to gush on the ground. Nothing broke as far as I can tell, the threaded female part just slipped off the rest of the filter.

These adjustable pressure regulators are terrific for my microsprayer systems. A typical run of mainline tubing works well around 35PSI. If you have unusually long runs, you can compensate (within reason) by increasing the pressure. I prefer to install the regulator after the canister screen filter so that a partially clogged filter doesn't affect delivery pressure. The unit uses pipe thread, so you'll need the appropriate 3/4" couplers to attach it to your garden faucet.
My typical setup is:
Faucet >> Timer >> Anti-backflow valve >> Screen filter >> Pressure Regulator >> Main line to micro-sprinkler zones >> Self-Drain valve.
Usage took some experimenting because our initial inlet pressure exceeded 110+ psi, which it appeared to disable the functionality. Support at The Drip Store helped me with the problem. Now that spring usage is normal on city water, all pressure valves work fine.
We have a single regulator (ea) on two of our main garden systems, with 5 to 12 watering zones downstream from the valves. There is no problem w/pressure on the far ends of either line. This has saved us valves and extra work. Also, we feel these valves will prevent blowouts we have experienced extensively over the years.
I highly recommend these pressure valves.

Each spot spitter has a special purpose. The drak green 160 Degree spitter, Flow Rate 9.6-13.2 GPH works the best for us all around for 2-3 situations.
First we use them to give good coverage for planted seeds in rows until the seeds get their roots. Then we switch from spitters to emitters where the foliage is low to the ground. Where the plant stalks are tall with little foliage close to the ground, we just leave them in place the whole season.
Also they work well for things like asparagus where there is little foliage and it is always uncertain where the stalks will emerge.
We run two poly-tubes lines along the outer edges of beds and stagger these 160 spitters to point in toward the planted area. The coverage is perfect.
The dark green spitter works best for us as we are on rural well water. This flow rate distributed over only 160 degrees give a very even, strong spray. The light green 160 spitter does not put out enough water for our large outside beds but would work well for small beds or inside pots/boxes. The 360 blue spitters have about the same FR but the spray is weak. Occaissionally we also use the 90 Degree spitter with FR 2.4 -3.6 GPH at the end of a row/line where w plant flowers or herbs.

Great for flower beds and the color helps it blend in easily in case you don't want to mess with burying it. Lots of parts! Sorted, packed & labeled well. Wish it had included the barb install tool - I didn't know about this or would have bought one - sore hands!! But then I'm getting older.
Great way to begin--Tinker Toys for adults. Added a 9-volt battery powered timer and automated the watering of our extensively landscaped backyard--150 trees, plants, flowers and shrubs. We installed the system in about the time it normally takes to drag the hose around and water the yard once. Now we water twice a day for 15 minutes each--all automatically. Next weekend we'll cover the line with mulch and no one will be the wiser.
I just ordered some more supplies and we'll begin the front yard (180 plants) next.
BTW, 500 ft seems like a lot of 1/2 inch tubing, but if your landscaping is two or three deep you'll find it easiest to run two or three parallel rows of 1/2 tubing using t connectors, so you use a lot more than you think you will.

Hard to straighten out tubing. Instructions should tell how far you must insert tubing into fittings. I found it goes into fittings about 1/2 to 5/8 inch.
This kit was not exactly what I was looking for, though it is everything is says. But it works well enough and my plants are all still alive, so I'm happy.

Without a doubt, this backflow preventer is the weakest link in my drip system. Small cracks appear within weeks, which cause my system to leak like crazy. I've changed this model out three or four times now, making adjustments along the way to alleviate excess pressure or strain, and nothing works. I'm now going to try the heavy duty model. Save yourself some money and aggravation and avoid this product.
I purchased 2 of these backflow preventers and both of them developed small cracks that rendered them unusable. They were only hand tightened and shouldn't have cracked. I think that it could have been the weight of the water filter assembly (F065) that may have contributed to this.

Whoops... I was referring to the Miracle Punch, not this fancy one.
I've been using my punch for 11 years. To the previous reviewer, it makes holes in the poly tubing so you can stick in barbed connectors. The goof plugs will bail you out if you make a mistake. Just pay attention to which side you're making holes on so your drip tape goes the direction you want. I couldn't be without it. Hope you get yours working for you.
I`m sorry I bought this. A lot of money for something that comes with no instructions and I cant figure anything out about how to use it or what it does. I`ve emailed the drip store for instructions but so far, nothing.
No instructions. Very difficult to figure out how to use. Cuts good, but not real friendly for making holes in the tubing for barb installs. Not worth the money.
Tube cutter works great. The hole punch works but you have to do the work by pushing and twisting which is not easy. No instructions. I also bought the miracle punch - use that for the holes and this thing for cutting tubes and pushing on barrbs.
The Pro punch and tubing cutter does not come with a set of instructions. The 4 pictures which are intended to detail its uses do not cover all the parts on the cutter. The cutter is not nearly as effecient in cutting tubing as the basic cutting tools. The only real advantage I can see is the ability to easily install plugs.

It is kinda OK for 1/4 tubing. I say so because it pinches the tube quite a bit. I am not sure if that affects the flow. I have used hold down stakes in kits from horbor freight tools and they dont pinch the tubing so much. But in comparison, this is built better.
Instead of attaching it to the tubing I attach it to the dispensing end of the drippers [it fits perfectly]. That way the dripper is held horizontally. BTW, a better item to holding drippers is S003.
Seems to be a bit too short to hold in loamy soil.

I got mixed experiences about this item. It needs a lot of presure to generate the mist. When I used it at a hieght of around 5 ft it worked as advertised....making a lot of mist.
But when I used it at two hanging baskets which are hung at a height of around 10' and I fed this mister using around 15' of 1/4 tubing.....it would not mist satisfactorily. It generated a wide stream instead. I guess the pressure up there is not enough.
Another problem was that due to the screw type connection the misters will sometimes pop off the end of the 1/4 tube. I had to push the tube all the way in...so that it was touching the valve. After that it is better.

My first time installing a drip irrigation set. Was pleased overall. Ended up buying some additional pieces, but that was poor planning on my part (was easy to find the additional pieces online). I would recommend for beginners. One tip, buy a splitter so you can still hook up your garden hose to your outdoor faucet without having to unhook the drip system.
This is a great starter kit. You can add on more later depending on your needs. For us, it saves a ton of time and money. If you have to buy all the included items invidually, it will cost you a lot more than the listed price. It was fun putting it together even though it was my first time using drip system.

Great kit! I installed it yesterday and it has all I need for a a few dozen garden palants. The directions are clear, the equipment is complete, and (though I had leftovers) it is the best way to order if one knows nothing about what you need. It is working right now. Now with the thing installed I can order piecemeal the things I want to add without worrying if I'm missing something I needed the first day.
I purchased this sytem in July of 1999. After laying it out on paper, it went together great--I was able to set it up perfectly for our garden, and we had the best year ever for vegetables. We had a couple of years where the garden barely got in at all, and I did not set the system back up after removing it for winter and cultivating. Pulled it all out this week--it's great! Had help setting it up this time, but it was just a matter of laying it back out on the garden, flushing it and re-arranging nozzles. Very easy to do, almost like having a whole new system. I'm ordering a few extra nozzles and tubing, but could easily get by with everythng I had from the first year's configuration. I highly recommend the product and the completeness of this kit. Priced very reasonable for what you get and expecially for the results. I literally had a few hundred more tomatoes from the 6-9 plants I usually put in!

My experience with the TOP kit was just the opposite-- all the part were included, very clear directions, installed in less than half an hour. I like the fact that the little poly lines run straight to each plant and deliver water to the roots. I never thought that I convert big honkin' heads to low water flow without calling in an expert. I will be ordering several more TOP kits very soon.

Thank You.
The pop up stem splits at the point where the nozzle is "threaded" into the stem. The split stems were discovered after installation; however, a few defective split stems were discovered before installation.
I have removed the nozzle on some stems removing the split (cut off about a half inch) and replacing the nozzle. This repair works on a few of the stems... others, it only splits again.
The pop up sprinklers, 90, 180, 360 degrees, is an effective product for low pressure (20-25 psi) irrigation water provided in the city.

The kit as package is pretty good. However, the drip tape end plugs are worthless. They don't fit in the tape tightly enouth, and the pressure ring just won't slide into a good position most of the time. I recently purchased 2 of these filters and had problems attaching pressure regulators (A043) leading to the threads becoming stripped. In attaching the pressure regulators, the hose washer in the regulators prevented sufficient threading, leading to the ends of the threads on the filter getting slightly stripped and a leaky connection. I then removed the hose washers from the pressure regulators and wrapped the filter threads in teflon tape (thinking that there would be more threading available to make a good connection) but this also developed a pinhole leak. Finally, I just used some GOOP and threaded the two parts together (I would have glued them together but they're different types of plastics and I don't think that there is a suitable glue for joining the two plastics). One joing has held but the other is leaking and I had to wrap it with old tire-tubing. In summary, then, it's difficult to impossible to make a water tight connection between this filter and the pressure regulator using either the hose washer or by using teflon tape. I consider this to be a flaw in the filter due to its softer threads susceptible to stripping.
Filter F065 uses pipe threads (MPT), which is not compatible with the hose thread connections (FHT) on preset pressure regulator model A043. This incompatibility, and not a design flaw or soft threads, is the reason for the leaks this customer is experiencing. No glue or tape should be used on hose thread connections. Teflon tape should be used on pipe thread connections which do not include a seat gasket.

I finished installing my K004 kit in my 20x48 side yard a week ago. So far, everything works beautifully. I felt the K004 kit was, overall, a good deal, and it simplified my DIY installation of drip irrigation. Even though I didn't use all the parts and I had to buy others that weren't included, it was still immensely helpful to be able to start with a set of pieces that are guaranteed to play together.
The directions are easy to follow. It took me about half an hour to figure out how the head assembly went together. At first I had a hard time attaching/removing connectors to the poly tubing and microtube -- quite a workout for my muscles! -- until I wised up and started using hot water and pliers.
Some helpful hints for others contemplating the K004 kit...
- Order a roll of teflon tape for taping the threaded parts in your head assembly. The K004 kit doesn't come with it, but the instructions call for it, and you'll probably need it to prevent leaks. If you don't already have some, save yourself a trip to Home Depot and just order it (part A042) when you order your K004 kit ;)
- The kit doesn't include drip line with embedded emitters. Depending on your garden, this may or may not be an issue. In my case, I was originally planning to use the kit's microsprayers on my flower beds, but then I realized that drip line would be more appropriate for flower beds that have a large number of varying-sized shrubs. Plan ahead and save yourself another trip to Home Depot ;)
- If you do end up using drip line, you'll also need additional stakes (part S006) for holding it down. The K004 kit only has 30 of them. Save yourself a trip to every Home Depot in a 15-mile radius because I found HD is often out of them ;) Figure you'll need to stake down every 3 feet or so.
- If you'll be attaching a lot of microtubing to your mainline (say, for container plants and shrubs LIMIT 1 ; you'll probably need more 1/4" microtubing and 1/4" barb connectors (SF001).
- If you want to hook up both your drip system and a hose (say, for washing the car) to the same hose bibb, order a Y connector. Sorry, I don't have the part # on that one, but I know The Drip Store carries this item because I ordered mine from them.
- Remember to clean your tubing punch with a toothpick after each hole you punch. This will help prevent debris from getting into your tubes.
Bottom line, I'm a satisfied customer. Since I just installed, I can't comment (yet) on durability, but maybe I'll be back to do that after a few Colorado winters...

I love this controller. I bought another home (one time before I had the same situation) with a full irrigation system but all manual valves. The previous owners must have liked puttering but I knew for me it would mean dead landscaping. I could have bought a central unit, valves and spend time hooking it all up wires and all. With these valves I've replaced the manual valves and have an automated system. Granted not as sophisticated and a central unit but I didn't have to mount the control unit in my house, drill holes in the wall and run wire all over the yard.
This is my second time utilizing these valves and I can't say enough about how satisfied I am. This model is a big improvement over the previous on because it is easier to program. My grass is also green.

So far, we have only used drip line in two garden / flower beds. Our soil is very good, so 12" spacing may be a problem.
Last week we watered one bed 20 hours and it was not soaked.
Today we watered a garden bed 1.75 hrs and it still needs more time.
Based on our initial experience, we most likely will not be using any more drip hose in our garden beds, and returning 300' of it.
We do have excellent water pressure.
We do not recommend this product.
