2" MPT Filter, 155 Mesh Stainless Steel Screen / F324

A lot of people worry about drip irrigation because they think it will get clogged up and be more hassle than it's worth. This is exactly the reason why filters exist, and why we suggest that every system includes one. A 155 mesh stainless steel screen filter like the F324 offers ideal filtration performance at an attractive price. Its larger size in relation to the 3/4" and 1" models means it can filter a lot more water before it needs to be cleaned. This filter is best for people looking to filter water coming from a solenoid valve or PVC pipe because it has pipe threads. This filter will not attach to a garden hose, garden spigot, or any other fitting that uses hose threads. If you're looking for a filter that will work with your garden hose or spigot, check out the F300 and F301.

Putting a filter on your system will prevent particulate matter from entering the system and causing a clog. This is true even if you're running good quality city or well water through your system. Water passes through the screen element inside the filter housing, leaving particles behind. It's a good idea to clean your filter periodically, more often if you're running dirty water through it. To clean the filter simple unscrew the canister, pull the element out, and hose it down to remove any particles or gunk stuck to it. You can even screw an A020 ball valve onto the bottom of the filter (just remove the cap first) to make cleaning the filter as easy as turning your system on and opening the valve, letting water pressure clean the element for you!

TIP: Pay attention to the arrows molded into the plastic at the top of the filter! These arrows tell you which direction water should flow through the filter depending on the type of filter (screen or disc).
