1/8" tubing is small enough that it can be a pain to use. Normal drippers don't fit on the end of it like they do with 1/4" tubing, and it's light enough that it can get moved around easily by the water moving through it. This stake is used to secure 1/8" micro tubing with .115 to .118 ID in place. The stake is designed to let water run down it instead of dripping onto the soil, preventing pitting in delicate substrates.
