The picture may be a little deceiving, but that's what we all wish we could be doing this Friday! Truth be told, we treat the employees to quite a few lunches off site during the slow season. Gotta reward the hard work during this time of year.
All that being said, we'd like to update you on how our operations are faring during 2020, Year of the Pandemic :)
* Phone Calls
Our office staff is being kept at a minimum and all employees who can work from home are doing so. This means that sometimes your call will go unanswered. if that happens, please leave a message. We do check messages so feel free to either leave one or call back in a little bit.
* Emails
Emails should get answered on time as this is not limited by office staffing. Sometimes we need to spend a few minutes researching to answer your questions correctly so give us a little leeway on getting back to you. We also answer emails in the order they come in. If the phones are busy, email is usually the fastest way to reach us.
*Shipping
As we outlined in our employee status blog post we have not taken on any seasonal workers this year to keep our full time warehouse staff as safe as possible. Fewer people means less exposure, after all. The warehouse staff has been racking up overtime like nobody's business so they're not complaining!
Due to the staffing and the enormous increase in demand, orders may not ship same day. However, the vast majority of orders will ship within two business days of order placement, so don't worry.
*Supply Chain Issues
Now that more people are shopping online we have seen a huge increase in demand this season, causing us to run into spot shortages on individual products. If we'd known the pandemic would get so many people into gardening we'd have stocked up, but hindsight is 20/20.
Some manufacturers are having problems getting product shipped to them which in turn keeps them from shipping to us. This issue mostly affects products that are manufactured or assembled overseas.
We have and are now working with our suppliers to ensure we stay stocked on almost all of our over 1,000 products. Some products may be coming from a different supplier that we normally get them from and might look a little bit different than the picture on the website. Rest assured that any of these products will preform just as well as the original. We will be working on updating pictures ASAP, but the reduced office staff is slowing this process down.
All of us are adjusting to new things right now so please bear with us. We promise to keep as much of our operation the same as before all this crazy happened.
