What Is PSP?

Priority Shipment Processing - or PSP - is an option to pay a small additional fee to "bump" your order to the top of our shipping list. While we do our best to ship every order as quickly as we can, this isn't always possible due to the volume of orders we receive. This is especially true during the busy season, which typically runs March 15th-August 1st.

What Does PSP Do?

PSP tells our warehouse team to prioritize your shipment. When they pack and pick orders, they follow this hierarchy:

1. Expedited orders go first. "Expedited" means orders shipping via UPS Next Day Air, 2nd Day Air, or Three-Day Select
2. Orders that have PSP go next
3. Orders without PSP go last

Orders are addressed within each group on a first come, first served basis. This means that an order with PSP will ship before any orders without PSP, but will ship after an order with PSP that was placed before it. 

Adding PSP to an order also means the warehouse team will do their best to ship your order the same day you placed it even if you placed it after our same-day shipping cutoff of 1pm Arizona time. See point #3 below for more details.

PSP is an inexpensive way to prioritize your shipment if you place it during a busy time of year, late in the day, or on a Friday (to give it the best chance of shipping before the weekend).

What Doesn't PSP Do?

There are a few things that PSP won't help with:

1. Adding PSP to an order with expedited shipping won't do anything. Orders that have expedited shipping methods always ship first and right away if possible, even if they're placed after the cutoff. There's no need to add PSP to an order if you're going to pay for expedited shipping anyway.
2. Shipment speed. PSP only helps move your shipment through our warehouse. It has nothing to do with the shipping method itself. If you picked a specific shipping method, your order will still travel to you at the speed of that method. If your order uses free shipping, we will still pick the least expensive shipping method per our free shipping policy. In other words: PSP gets your package on the truck more quickly, but it doesn't change how fast the truck drives.
3. Carrier pickup times. UPS, USPS, and our other shipping partners only come to pick orders up once per day. USPS comes around 1pm, and the others come between 2pm and 4pm. If your order is placed after they have picked up for the day or cannot be packed and processed before the pickup occurs, then it will ship the next day, even if you have PSP. We'll do everything we can to ship your order same-day, even if it's placed after our 1pm cutoff. If the carrier has already picked up for that day, though, you're out of luck.
4. Item shortages. If we are short on one or more items for your order we will contact you about the shortage before we ship your order. This contact is typically by phone and/or email, and is mainly to ask whether you'd like a partial shipment (sometimes for an additional charge) or to hold the order to ship complete. Once your order is ready to ship it will still be handled via PSP rules, but adding PSP to your order won't fix us being short on an item. If you do end up getting multiple shipments for the same order, all of them will be given PSP if it was added to the original order.
5. Payment pending orders, holidays/weekends, address problems, and other issues. If you haven't paid for your order in full, if you placed your order on a day that we don't ship like a holiday or a weekend, or if there is some other issue with your order that prevents us from shipping it, then PSP will not change that. Your order will still be handled via PSP rules once it's ready to ship, but any issues will need to be fixed first. We will always alert you about any such issues ASAP via a phone call and/or email.
6. First come, first served. We are not Amazon and our warehouse manpower is limited. Your order may still ship the next business day if there are enough people ahead of you in line, even if you added PSP to your order. This happens most often during the busy season (March 15th-August 1st) and on Mondays specifically, but there are busy days all throughout the year. That being said, an order with PSP will still be processed before an order without PSP.
